Ioannis is a PhD candidate in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. He holds a MSc in Data Science (with honors) from the School of Science and Technology of International Hellenic University (2019) and a MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering specialised in the energy sector from Aristotle University (2016). His areas of interest focus on the combination of state-of-the-art technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, knowledge graphs, transfer learning, explainable AI, etc.

Ioannis has worked in various machine learning projects related to fake news detection from text, knowledge graph construction from textual data, predicting missing links in citation networks, analysing energy load and production profiles and comparative analysis and benchmarking of search engines including Elasticsearch, Amazon CloudSearch, Microsoft Azure Search.
